Seasonal Volunteering

Help out when our need for volunteers is greatest

Seasonal volunteers play a huge role at Shepherds of Good Hope by helping accommodate the increased demand for services during special times of the year. Seasonal volunteers contribute by preparing and serving meals in our kitchen or supportive housing programs, sorting and organizing holiday donations, and assisting with holiday-themed parties for our clients and residents.

Seasonal volunteers are needed during the Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and Easter holidays.

How to Become a Seasonal Volunteer:

To begin the process, please complete and submit our seasonal volunteer application form.

Things to consider:

  • While it is great to have families join us, participants must be at least 18 years of age. If you have minors in your group, please email our Community and Volunteer Services team at volunteer@sghottawa.com to see if we can find a role that might be suitable for your group.
  • Due to the high volume of requests we receive, we ask that you please submit a new application for each holiday during which you wish to volunteer.
  • Volunteer requests are processed on a first come, first served basis. While we try our best to accommodate all applicants, we have a limited number of available opportunities for seasonal volunteer roles. But remember, we need volunteers all year round — consider applying to volunteer as an individual or part of a group outside the holiday seasons.
