Community Homes for opportunity (CHO)

The Community Homes for Opportunity (CHO) program, established by the Ministry of Health & Long-Term Care (MOH), is a recovery-based person-centered program providing supportive housing that is safe and affordable. It aims to empower residents with serious mental illness to be independent, integrated into the community, and active participants in their own wellness plan.

CHO provides its residents with opportunities to enhance their quality of daily living, their personal growth and development, and improve life skills through participation in in-home and community activities, services and programs.

In partnership with the MOH, Shepherds of Good Hope serves as the community agency responsible for 6 homes in the Ottawa area, providing support to 81 residents.
