Your Heart. Their Hope.
Become a Shepherds Volunteer.
Every day, from Kanata, to Montreal Road and places in between, Shepherds of Good Hope Volunteers are changing the lives of people experiencing homelessness in our Ottawa.
When you become a volunteer at Shepherds of Good Hope, another life is changed; yours.
Giving your time and talent in support of others is a fulfilling experience. Volunteering at Shepherds of Good Hope is a tangible way to be part of the community and see your efforts help people in real time.
Shepherds of Good Hope offers you a chance to volunteer in any of our Supportive Housing Residences (Kanata, Merivale Road, Lowertown, Montreal Road), our Hope Garden (during the season), and of course our Community Kitchen on Murray Street.

Individual Volunteers
Volunteers play a vital role in supporting our locations across the city, helping us create welcoming, supportive spaces for our guests and residents. Your time and involvement directly contribute to building community, fostering connection, and enhancing the day-to-day experiences of those we serve.
There are a variety of meaningful ways to get involved—whether it’s prepping or serving food in our community kitchen, helping in the garden, leading social activities like bingo or karaoke, or supporting our teams through administrative work. Each opportunity offers a chance to make a tangible difference.
Do you have a unique skill or passion you’d like to share? We would love to hear from you. Your contributions—big or small—help strengthen our community and support individuals on their journey toward stability and belonging.
There’s a volunteer opportunity to match your interests, availability, and desire to give back, though we are particularly seeking individuals who can make a regular commitment for at least six months. Getting started is easy—simply reach out and tell us a bit about yourself and where you’d like to get involved.
